Love Link · Last updated 8 November 2026 · For law enforcement, regulators and courts.
These guidelines explain how Love Link responds to requests from law enforcement, regulators and courts. They are intended for law enforcement officials and for members who want to understand how their information may be disclosed.
Love Link is operated by the Love Link team. Requests must be directed to our legal contact channel described in section 9.
We respect member privacy and do not volunteer member data. We disclose information only where we are legally required to, where we have the member's valid consent, or where disclosure is necessary to prevent serious harm or death.
If you believe there is an imminent risk of death or serious physical harm, contact local emergency services first. Then submit an emergency request to our legal contact with "EMERGENCY" in the subject line.
An emergency request must describe the emergency, the specific account involved, the information needed and why it is needed urgently. We review emergency requests as soon as they are received and may disclose limited account and location-related information where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent harm.
We may follow up to confirm the identity and authority of the requesting official before or after disclosure.
For non-emergency requests, we require valid legal process issued by a competent authority. As a general rule:
A subpoena or court order may be sufficient for basic subscriber information, such as the email address registered to an account and the dates the account was created and last active.
A warrant, or equivalent court-authorized process, is required for the content of communications, private diary entries and other stored content.
Requests for multiple accounts or for bulk data must be accompanied by separate legal process for each account, or by process that expressly authorises the wider scope.
All process should be issued to, or served on, the Love Link entity that operates the service and must be valid in the jurisdiction where Love Link operates.
Depending on how a member uses Love Link, records may include: account and profile information (display name, email address, member ID, age, photographs, stated interests); messages sent through the app; safety reports and complaints; verification and background-check status; subscription and payment status (card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us); ride and virtual meetup records; and technical logs such as IP address and login times.
We cannot obtain information we do not hold, and we cannot recover deleted content.
We will preserve account records for 90 days on receipt of a written preservation request that identifies the account and the records sought, pending service of formal legal process. Preservation keeps records internally; it does not disclose them. Preservation can be extended on request while legal process is pending.
Unless we are legally prohibited from doing so, or we believe notice would create a risk of harm, obstruct an investigation or allow evidence to be destroyed, we give the affected member notice before producing their information so they have an opportunity to object.
Requests originating outside the jurisdiction in which Love Link operates must go through the appropriate mutual legal assistance process or comparable lawful channel. We may decline requests that do not meet the standards described here.
Submit requests from an official government or law enforcement domain, on agency letterhead where possible, and include: the name and contact details of the requesting official; the legal authority relied on; the specific account identifiers (member ID, email address or profile URL); the categories of records sought and the relevant date range; and the return date by which the information is required.
We charge reasonable costs for producing records in response to legal process where the law permits, including for research and review time. We will notify you of any expected cost before producing records.
Send requests through the app's official contact channel. We do not accept requests sent from unofficial addresses, and we verify every request before responding.
We publish the number and type of legal requests we receive where we are permitted to do so, and we challenge requests that we consider overbroad, vague or legally invalid.
